PopCap is seeking an experienced Lead Game Product Manager to join our team.


As a Lead Product Manager, you will be responsible for defining and driving the Acquisition, Engagement, and Monetization strategies for our mobile titles. You must be passionate about representing the voice and needs of our players and business. You will work closely with your team to drive best-practice strategies related to the development and fine-tuning of the game. Product Managers are expected to work closely with other PMs, Analysts, Developers, and external stakeholders to further the success of our games. This is a data-first role, utilizing metrics to inform growth efforts for new and/or existing titles coming out of PopCap.


Responsibilities


  • Define, design and manage key game features that further the overall strategic vision of the product

  • Conduct and communicate in-depth analysis of in-game economy trends using data insights and strong business acumen to impact top line KPIs

  • Work closely with the game team and various stakeholders to gather requirements and define the product roadmap

  • Influence partners to rally behind your ideas and effect change among various teammates and collaborators

  • Design, balance, and optimize economy models for virtual economies

  • Track performance on a daily, monthly, and quarterly basis

  • Communicate KPIs to internal and external stakeholders and adjust designs/plans accordingly

  • Define requirements for Data Analytics, A/B testing, push notifications, and other partner tools

  • Hold an informed, expert perspective on established models for monetizing games

  • Monitor competitive trends and best practices, third parties tools/partnerships, and internal business intelligence and identify opportunities

  • Leverage first and third-party tools to define, track, and best serve player segments

  • Learn, have fun and build games that millions of people love to play


Requirements


  • Strong analytic skills and experience with data-driven product design and decision making

  • Success building web or mobile consumer-facing products in the past

  • Delivered at least one product through the entire product development cycle

  • Experience with multivariate testing in web or mobile products

  • Experience defining specs or PRDs with clear technical requirements, user flows, and wireframes

  • Strong in Excel, able to create models and simulators for in-game economies

  • Experience with economy and systems design

  • Experience creating and balancing virtual economies, with an eye to technical and user experience best practices

  • Strong communication and writing skills

  • Experience communicating both creative and technical feedback to diverse groups

  • Passion for creating great freemium games, with the ability to identify flaws in design, art, and “feel”

  • Community channels and how this segment of active players discusses the game

  • Self-motivated team player that brings excitement and enthusiasm to work each day

  • Open to feedback and outside-the-box thinking

  • Loves games and has experience with PopCap titles (Plants vs Zombies, Bejeweled, etc)

  • Nice to have: Experience in casual or “hybrid-casual” F2P game operation


Qualifications


  • BS/BA degree, ideally in a quantitative discipline; MS/MBA preferred

  • 5+ years of experience in product management in consumer web, system design background and/or experience in a top-ranked management consulting firm

If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs). BASE SALARY RANGES

  • British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria)
    • $115,100 - $161,200 CAD
  • California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. Sacramento)
    • $140,700 - $204,700 USD
  • Colorado (depending on location e.g. Denver vs. Colorado Springs)
    • $131,000 - $174,800 USD
  • Jersey City, NJ
    • $164,800 - $204,700 USD
  • New York (depending on location e.g. Manhattan vs. Buffalo)
    • $125,300 - $204,700 USD
  • Washington (depending on location e.g. Seattle vs. Spokane)
    • $125,300 - $198,100 USD

Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. In the US, we offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity. For British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
