Responsibilities
- You will help create environment assets (such as rocks, street props or furniture), in a production environment, from concept to integration. This means that you will:
- Model and Texture assets from given reference.
- Attend reviews and adapt your work based on feedback.
- Work with your Lead and other disciplines until validation to ensure the work meets established technical and performance requirements
- Learn to integrate your content successfully in the proprietary game engine
- You will learn to match an existing aesthetic style and implement it through authoring of assets
Qualifications
- You are currently a first year student, enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree granting program in a related field
- You have an interest in 3D asset creation for worlds/environments in games, an understanding of visual storytelling as well as an eye for Light, Shades, Color theory and Details
- Foundational knowledge of at least one industry standard engine (Unreal or Unity) and basic knowledge of content creation software like Maya, Blender, ZBrush, Substance Painter/Designer
- 3D Modeling skills and understanding of form, shape, structure, and silhouette.
- Knowledge of real-time asset creation techniques (Shaders, PBR, Normal maps, Displacement maps etc.)
You must be available for a full-time paid internship in the summer of 2025. We are only considering students who will be enrolled in an accredited degree program in the summer of 2025, slated to graduate no earlier than May 2027. You must be legally authorized to work in Canada on a full-time basis during the 16-week internship. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
