Role Summary

We’re looking for a technically curious and hands-on Associate Specialist – People Data & Automation to join EA’s People Services Data & Automation team. This role sits at the intersection of HR data, engineering, workflow automation, and AI-powered tooling — helping the People Experience (PE) team move faster and make better decisions through smart, reliable data pipelines and automation solutions.

You’ll work closely with experienced leaders and analysts to build and maintain Automation scripts, SQL data pipelines, and Power BI reporting — all in support of workforce analytics, compliance reporting, and operational efficiency across EA’s global employee base.

This is an excellent entry point for someone passionate about data engineering who wants to grow their skills in a real-world enterprise environment with meaningful HR and people data impact.

What You’ll Do

AI & Intelligent Tooling

  • Support the development of our AI-powered Digital Assistant by participating in requirements gathering sessions with PE stakeholders — documenting use cases, capturing pain points, and translating business needs into clear technical specifications
  • Collaborate with IT and vendor teams to support the build, integration, and testing of the Digital Assistant — acting as a bridge between People Experience needs and technical delivery
  • Develop a working understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs) — including how they process prompts, handle context, and can be applied to People Experience use cases such as policy Q&A, onboarding guidance, and employee self-service
  • Support UAT and feedback cycles for the Digital Assistant — gathering input from PE users, logging issues, and working with the team to iterate on response quality and coverage
  • Stay current on the evolving AI/automation vendor landscape and contribute to internal assessments of tools that could enhance PE service delivery

Data Engineering & Reporting

  • Support Power BI dashboard development, including DAX measures, data model maintenance, and refresh scheduling
  • Assist in building and maintaining compliance reports (e.g., termination threshold tracking, workforce analytics)
  • Help automate PowerPoint and Excel-based reporting pipelines
  • Integrate data from multiple systems (Workday, ServiceNow, Avature, Excel, SharePoint) into unified reporting layers

Automation & Pipeline Development

  • Build and maintain Python scripts that automate repetitive people data tasks (reporting, data extraction, file generation)
  • Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, join, and aggregate workforce data from systems including Workday and ServiceNow
  • Contribute to the PE Automation Hub — a GUI that schedules and manages automation scripts across PE domains
  • Support scheduling, error handling, and logging to ensure pipeline reliability

Collaboration & Support

  • Partner with analysts, Shared Services colleagues, People Partners, Business Partners, and senior leaders to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Document automation scripts, data pipelines, and workflows to ensure maintainability and knowledge sharing
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and QA for automation tools
  • Support the team’s delivery cycle — from scoping and sprint planning to deployment and monitoring

About You

You are:

  • Comfortable working with HR or enterprise system data (Workday, ServiceNow, or equivalent)
  • Genuinely curious about how data and automation can eliminate manual work
  • Detail-oriented with a quality-first mindset when working with sensitive people data
  • A clear communicator who can explain technical solutions to non-technical HR partners
  • Familiar with Power BI or Tableau report/dashboard development, DAX fundamentals, and data model basics
  • Skilled in SQL — able to write intermediate-to-advanced queries (window functions, joins, aggregations)
  • Proficient in Python — comfortable writing production-quality scripts for data manipulation, automation, and file generation (pandas, openpyxl, subprocess, etc.)
  • Knowledgeable about data pipeline concepts — ETL/ELT, scheduling, error handling, and logging
  • Motivated to grow — this role will expose you to a wide modern data stack

Nice to Have

  • Experience gathering and translating business requirements into technical solutions — able to break down manual or ad hoc processes and reimagine them through an AI/automation lens
  • Experience in HR, People Data, or workforce data environment
  • Familiarity with identifying automation opportunities: mapping repetitive workflows, defining inputs/outputs, and scoping build effort in collaboration with non-technical stakeholders
  • Alteryx — experience building or maintaining workflows for data transformation and scheduling
  • Experience with browser automation tools (Playwright, Selenium) or GUI automation
  • Familiarity with tkinter or other Python GUI frameworks
  • Exposure to LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic Claude) or AI-assisted data workflows
  • Basic understanding of REST APIs and JSON data handling
  • 1-3 years of experience
  • B.Tech or B.Sc. in Computer Science or IT related fields
