Battlefield is a storied franchise renowned for uncompromising combat gameplay for over two decades. 100 million players and 5 billion hours played later, the Battlefield team is looking to define the future of the first-person shooter. Composed of world-class studios across Criterion, DICE, Motive, and Ripple Effect – all powered by the Foundational Tech team – we are building a connected Battlefield universe filled with immersive experiences.

The Opportunity: We are seeking a Build Engineer to join the LTR (Long Range Tech) team on Battlefield. You will work with developers across the entire production pipeline, such as developers, production, designers and artists, to ensure our game and development workflows are solid and performant.

Your work will have a long term impact on the players experience across multiple projects and activities within the Battlefield franchise.

What You’ll Do:

  • Conduct root cause analysis for issues, proposing effective mitigation strategies and solutions for the short and long term.

  • Assist game code and content developers in debugging and optimizing bottlenecks found during testing.

  • Review technical design documents to identify potential pitfalls and recommend alternative implementations.

  • Identify opportunities to improve testing, tooling or workflows for better triaging, reporting, and analysis of issues.

  • Adapt and evolve the current toolset to address new features or problem spaces.

  • Improve the submission process and automation pipeline for the build engineering team, ensuring developers are unblocked and able to deliver at their best.

  • Collaborate with the other build engineers and BF partners, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.

Who You Are:

A technical leader with a deep engineering background and experience shipping AAA titles, ideally in multiplayer or live service environments.

  • Skilled in C/C++, CI/CD, Perforce, and large-scale build systems.

  • Experienced in managing large codebases and multiple development branches.

  • Adept at collaborating across multiple studios, time zones, and disciplines.

  • Passionate about collaborating with BF partners for continuous improvement of processes.

  • Ability to understand and drive root causes and provide long term solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.

  • 4+ years of relevant video games experience for the role

  • Knowledge of C# and CI solutions, perforce and build systems

  • Experience analyzing and debugging the source of an issue across projects and branches
