    Development Manager - American Football

EA SPORTS is one of the leading sports entertainment brands in the world, with top-selling videogame franchises, award-winning interactive technology, fan programs, and cross-platform digital experiences. EA SPORTS creates connected experiences that ignite the emotion of sport through industry-leading sports video games, including Madden NFL football, EA Sports FC soccer, NHL® hockey, and EA SPORTS UFC.

As a Development Manager (DM) you will report to the lead Development Director (DD). You will manage the development cadence and efficiency for a variety of disciplines including Artists, Designers, Software Engineers, QA, and other Production staff. DM's are the keepers of the project schedule and play an integral role in successfully moving the Development team from one project phase to the next, while ensuring a focus on quality, collaboration and communication. You will partner with Producers to ensure that projects are being managed on time, to quality, and within budget, while avoiding bottlenecks.

Your Responsibilities

  • Build working relationships with the immediate team, and those outside of the immediate team that have an effect on project completion

  • Identify development bottlenecks, determine root-cause (ie: resourcing needs, dependencies, etc.), and recommend/implement solutions when necessary

  • Communicate regularly with the project team and coordinate dependencies with external partners

  • Facilitate the creation and assignment of tasks, derived from defined project goals

  • Proactively mitigate risk for assigned scope and quality

  • Establish an overall project schedule based on the individual task estimates for production and assess the resource requirements to meet the task requirements

Your Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years project management or team leadership experience, ideally working in a dynamic and collaborative team environment

  • University degree, bachelors, or equivalent professional experience

  • Experience communicating across all levels of an organization

  • Experience in project management methodologies such as Waterfall and Agile

Regardless of your specialization, a few things we're always looking for:

  • Passion. You love your craft and are always looking to learn more.

  • A sense of humility and ability to thrive in a team environment. You look for help when you're stuck and you want to help your teammates when they need it.

  • A knack for managing your time. You know when to go deeper on a task versus recognizing that it's time to get 'er done and move on to the next thing. Quality is important, but so is speed!

  • Drive to execute. Projects you've worked on in the past (personal or professional) got finished, and got finished properly... and it had a lot to do with you.
