The Data & Insights (D&I) Data Group develops a unified Big Data pipeline across all franchises at Electronic Arts. This live service platform incorporates data collection, ingestion, processing, real-time streaming analytics, access, and visualization - all built on a modern, cloud-based tech stack with cutting-edge tools. The Data Group provides the tools and platform that power the future of game development, marketing, sales, accounting, and customer experience.

In this role as Senior Director, LCM CoreTech Engineering you are an executive with deep expertise in distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, and data-driven platform development. You will lead the strategy, execution, and evolution of lifecycle management platforms that power EA's live service ecosystem—from player acquisition and onboarding through engagement, retention, and monetization across games and digital channels. You will oversee a global engineering organization responsible for building and operating large-scale, cloud-based platforms, working cross-functionally with Product, Marketing Technology, Studios, and central teams to drive alignment, manage complex dependencies, and deliver meaningful business impact.

The Senior Director, LCM CoreTech Engineering will report to the Head of LCM Engineering.

This role is hybrid onsite the Redwood City studio three days a week.

Responsibilities:

  • You will play a critical role in advancing EA's lifecycle capabilities by driving innovation, improving operational excellence, and fostering a culture of engineering rigor.

  • You will define and drive long-term technical strategy, ensuring lifecycle systems are aligned with EA's business and player experience goals.

  • You will seek continuous improvement while increasing platform leverage, studio adoption, and business impact across the company.

  • You will work with cross-functional teams including Content Management & Delivery, Messaging, Segmentation, Recommendation, and Experimentation to streamline the live services workflow.

  • You will evaluate where EA's live service solutions, studio tech stacks, and vendor solutions can work together. You will also examine how they can help achieve both engineering and business goals.

  • You will use massive data sets from 20+ game studios to promote a data-driven decision-making process and experimentation culture.

  • You will design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and real-time streaming data processing systems using technologies such as Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, and Apache Storm.

  • You will engage with Game Studios, Experience, and Brand organizations to understand their use cases, and drive e2e solutions to meet the requirements.

  • You will work with Legal and Privacy teams to ensure that compliance directives are strictly followed.

  • You will work with product managers and customers directly to understand the use cases, come up with solutions and drive the areas of development with the best return on investment.

Qualifications:

  • Education – Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Engineering Leadership Experience – 15+ years in software engineering with 7+ years in senior leadership roles, delivering large-scale, distributed systems.

  • Architecture & Design Expertise – Proven ability to define and lead complex system architectures, including microservices, event-driven systems, and cloud-native platforms.

  • Lifecycle / Growth Systems Experience – Experience building or leading platforms related to CRM, player/customer lifecycle management, marketing technology, personalization, or engagement systems.

  • Cloud & Infrastructure – Deep experience with cloud-native platforms and distributed systems at scale, including service reliability, and cost-efficient platform operations.

  • Data & Analytics Experience – Proven track record leading teams to build and scale consumer-facing data products and services, including real-time and batch systems, across both transactional and analytical use cases.

  • Software Development Practices – Strong record of driving engineering rigor and operational excellence across modern software development and platform operations.

  • Risk Management & Planning – Demonstrated ability to manage complex dependencies, define long-term technical roadmaps, and deliver against multi-year strategies.

  • Collaboration & Influence – Lead cross-functional initiatives, influence senior stakeholders, and align teams across organizational boundaries.

  • Innovation Mindset – Experience evaluating and integrating emerging technologies to solve business problems and improve system capabilities.

  • People Leadership – Strong track record of managing and scaling globally distributed engineering teams, developing leaders, and fostering inclusive, cultures.
