PC Lab Technician / Hardware Farm Operator (Mid-Level)

Role Overview
PC is a rapidly growing platform for our players, and delivering an exceptional experience across a wide variety of hardware configurations is critical to our success. To support this, we are building a PC development and testing farm that reflects the diverse setups used by our players.
This lab provides developers with direct access to representative hardware for testing, iteration, and optimization. In this role, you will help assemble, maintain, and operate the PC lab environment—ensuring reliability, enabling automation, and assisting engineering teams with early-level debugging and triage.

Key Responsibilities
PC Lab Setup & Hardware Management
  • Assist in building, configuring, and onboarding PCs spanning a variety of hardware specs.
  • Maintain the PC fleet, diagnose hardware issues, and ensure consistent availability.
  • Manage supporting infrastructure (KVM switches, monitors, network connectivity, cabling).
  • Maintain accurate records of machine configurations, status, and known issues.
Automation Readiness & Support
  • Prepare machines for automated testing in partnership with Automation/Tools Engineering teams.
  • Install required software, runtimes, and test agents.
  • Ensure machines remain stable and connected for scheduled automation runs.
Technical Investigation & Debugging Support
  • Attach debuggers, review logs, and perform preliminary investigations on failed test runs.
  • Identify whether failures originate from the game, scripts/tools, machine environment, or hardware.
  • Reproduce issues on specific hardware configurations for engineering teams.
  • Provide early triage and actionable summaries to accelerate developer debugging.
Monitoring, Data Collection & Reporting
  • Monitor the health and performance of machines and automation workflows.
  • Gather test output data, summarize trends, and highlight recurring issues.
  • Provide feedback to engineering and QA teams to support issue resolution and performance improvements.
Hardware Strategy Input
  • Identify opportunities to expand or update the lab’s hardware coverage.
  • Recommend new components or configurations based on player trends, market shifts, and development team needs.
Required Qualifications
  • Strong hands-on experience with PC hardware assembly, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with Windows OS administration, configuration, and system-level troubleshooting.
  • Ability to attach debuggers and conduct preliminary debugging for triage.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and careful attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage and maintain multiple machines in a lab setting.
  • Clear communication skills when reporting issues or collaborating with engineers/QA.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with C++ debugging or familiarity with game debugging workflows.
  • Understanding of game development pipelines, automated testing, or performance analysis.
  • Light scripting experience (PowerShell, Python, Bash).
  • Experience using profiling or diagnostic tools.
  • Active familiarity with PC gaming as an end user — understanding player expectations, performance considerations, and common PC gameplay issues.
  • Comptia A+ Certification
