Description & Requirements

We are a global team of creators, storytellers, technologists, experience originators, innovators and so much more. We believe amazing games and experiences start with teams as diverse as the players and communities we serve. At Electronic Arts, the only limit is your imagination.

Cliffhanger Games is a newly formed Seattle Studio focusing on blockbuster action-adventure games and pioneering next-generation emergent storytelling beginning with Marvel's Black Panther. Join us to pursue your passion to build unique, groundbreaking, and inclusive games that empower players to create incredible stories of heroic adventure.

Become a foundational part of an ambitious, respectful and diverse team as we look for a Senior Game Services Engineer to join our team.

Your expertise will be critical to the development of flexible content infrastructure and facilitate both the successful launch and delivery of our innovative player-driven experience, as well as fulfilling post-launch service requirements. A highlight of this role will include strengthening our feedback loop with telemetry and analytics. You will report to our studio’s Director of Gameplay Engineering on technical decision-making and have the support of an Engineering Manager to ensure professional growth and well-being. You will also have access to peers across the team and the greater EA organization to both mentor and learn from, collaborate with and grow.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with stakeholders to plan design and architect initial gameplay service needs for our game’s release, including content delivery and meeting first party requirements.
  • Collaborate with Central Teams and Engineering Leadership to meet Data and Analytics pipeline and workflow requirements.
  • Work with the Build Release team to assist with integration management, build stabilization and successful delivery of Release Milestone Builds.
  • Assist in implementation of technical requirements for security and first party delivery for Playtest Builds, including necessary configuration management.
  • Work with Engineering Management to determine appropriate resources for staffing and supporting the hiring of remaining Engineering roles in this stack
  • Maintain and stabilize engine level divergences during version updates
  • Help grow your knowledge and skills and that of your peers via technical discussions and code reviews
  • Be supportive of those around you and open to exploring, proposing or adopting new ideas, technologies and practices

Qualifications:

  • Experience shipping a AAA title and supporting its systems and content post release.
  • Can speak to personal experience shipping large, complex systems
  • Experience with Unreal Engine
  • Invested in both the quality of your individual contributions and the quality of the game
  • Appreciation for robust, maintainable, easily readable code
  • Track record of communicating technical issues clearly and collaborating with other disciplines on determining solutions optimized for specific team and project priorities
  • 5+ years of professional C/C++ experience
