The Software Engineer role within EA Sports Quality Verification Engineering (QVE) department collaborates with EA's QA and Development teams to create tools, automation solutions, scripts, and technical strategies.

We are a team supporting quality for EA App; EA Play, our cross-platform subscription; and host of other consumer experiences. You will play an important role as part of our team focusing on upstream quality. This is an opportunity to positively effect the game experiences for millions of players around the world.

This is a hybrid role based in our Vancouver offices.

Responsibilities:

  • You will work with Dev and QA partners to identify areas of improvement through new tools and automation strategies.

  • Build, test, and deploy solutions that support automation deliverables.

  • You will work on an agile team to design and develop test libraries, automation scripts and internal tools

  • Help prioritize automation efforts and identify areas of test focus.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience working with Node, JavaScript/ TypeScript .

  • Familiarity with Object-oriented languages such as Java, C#, or Python.

  • Proficiency in test-driven development techniques.

  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Gitlab, Jenkins etc.

  • Good understanding of software development life cycle, software engineering methodologies, and software quality assurance concepts and technologies


COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs). 

PAY RANGES

* British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) * $79,900 - $111,900 CAD

 In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, and extended health/dental/vision coverage and basic life insurance.
