Role Summary:

The Regional Counsel (Attorney 2) will support the legal team in managing legal and compliance matters within Korea and Asia for Electronic Arts. You will support contract review, regulatory compliance, and multiple corporate legal functions to support business operations in Korea and Asia. We ask that you have research skills and the ability to work with teams.


Main Responsibilities:

1. Contract Review and Drafting

  • You will help review, and negotiating agreements, including licensing, distribution, content creation, marketing, and outsourcing agreements.

  • You will work under the supervision of senior legal staff to ensure agreements align with company policies and legal standards.

2. Employment

  • You will support senior members of the team in providing oversight on employment matters in Asia.

3. Compliance and Regulatory Support

  • You will Support senior members of the team in monitoring adherence to regional laws, including data privacy laws, labor regulations, and industry standards.

4. Intellectual Property (IP) Management

  • You will Collaborate with the global IP team to address issues related to content usage.

5. Research and Legal Analysis

  • You will conduct legal research on regional laws and regulations relevant to the video game industry and provide summaries to the legal team.

  • You will stay up-to-date with legal trends and potential regulatory changes that could influence our regional operations.

6. Collaboration

  • You will work with other departments, including finance, HR, marketing, and operations, to provide legal input on daily projects.

  • You will participate in meetings with internal clients to discuss legal considerations for multiple projects.


Qualifications:

  • Education: Juris Doctor (JD) degree or equivalent from an accredited law school; admission to practice law in common law jurisdiction (e.g., US, UK, AU) or Korea.

  • Experience: 2 or more years of experience with exposure to the entertainment, media, or digital industries, either in-house or at a law firm.

  • Expertise:

    • Knowledge of entertainment law, contract law, IP law, and compliance matters.

    • Experience with contract negotiation and drafting.

    • Familiarity with regional regulations affecting media and entertainment, such as data privacy and labor laws.
