We are DICE, the award-winning studio based in Stockholm, Sweden, best known for creating the phenomenally successful 20-years old Battlefield franchise. We strongly believe our people are the backbone and driving force to our creative products, and are always looking for diverse game creators to help us build the best Battlefield experiences and make our studio the best in the industry.
We are looking for a Hardware (Vehicle/Weapons) Intern to join our team working on Battlefield.
Responsibilities:
Join our team and support the Key Artist in pushing the boundaries of 3D hardware production. You'll play a hands-on role in streamlining workflows and solving creative challenges. Your tasks will include:
- Test and provide feedback on in-development tools
- Create clear, useful documentation (tutorials, onboarding materials)
- Identify workflow improvements and help implement them
- Assist with dynamic vehicle destruction setups
- Run batch fixes across large content libraries and tackling minor bugs
Qualifications:
- You must be associated with a university education or any other type of education that has an internship period planned into the education plan, for example, LiA.
- You must reside in Sweden as we are not able to provide relocation or visa assistance.
- You are available to start a full-time internship from September 2025
Desired Skills:
We’re looking for candidates with experience or interest in one or more of the following areas:
- Technical Art - 3D pipelines and how to optimise workflows across tools and game engines.
- Tool Scripting & Automation - Python, MEL (for Maya), VEX (for Houdini), and possibly C# or C++ (for deeper integration or tooling in Frostbite).
- Procedural Asset Generation - Houdini to build reusable, parametric tools for props, vehicles, weapons, and cosmetics creation.
- Material Authoring & Optimization - Substance Designer for making scalable, reusable materials with performance in mind.
- Pipeline Integration - Tracking tools, building pipelines, and custom exporters/importers between Maya/Houdini and Frostbite.
- Debugging & Profiling - Analyse asset performance (polycount, texture memory, draw calls) and debug visual issues in Frostbite.
- Translate artist needs into technical solutions, write documentation, and train team members.
