Technical Game Design Intern (Summer 2026) – Jedi Team

Respawn Entertainment is looking for a Technical Game Design Intern to join us on the Jedi team at our LA- Chatsworth studio. Reporting to the Lead Technical Designer, you will work in a team to help prototype and refine gameplay features in the next installment of the critically acclaimed Jedi franchise.
Responsibilities:
- Work with designers, engineers and other creatives to develop the vision and improve compelling gameplay systems
- Write functional script Unreal Engine Blueprints that aligns with technical best practices
- Align and collaborate with multiple disciplines to promote the vision of gameplay features.
- Improve on features based on playtesting, design requirements, and creative direction
Requirements:
- You are currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree granting program in a related field with an expected graduation date no earlier than December 2026.
- Understanding of game engine tools and pipeline such as Unreal Engine, Unity, etc.
- A desire to learn and comprehend the game design process, specifically game mechanics and design theory
- Communicate design ideas and requirements to non-designers
- A curious mind that strives to understand how and why something works the way it does
- A knowledge of game mechanics and systems that are industry standard
- An interest in creating gameplay systems, mechanics and game modes
- A collaborative and inclusive attitude to ask questions, learn and adapt
Ideally you will have:
- Experience with Unreal Engine Blueprints
- Examples/projects of playable games or videos of games you’ve worked on.
We will only consider students who are enrolled in an accredited degree program expecting to graduate no earlier than December 2026. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the US on a full-time basis during the 12-week internship. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
