You will be working to develop new potential titles in the EA Lifestyle Group. We build games for Imaginative Creators; games that allow players to create something that is an expression of their unique personality.

In this role you will be working on an incubation team prototyping and market testing new potential game concepts and features. This is a hands-on role that requires building storyboards, wire frames, interactive prototypes, shippable game UI, and working closely with a cross disciplinary team to ship and analyze results.

The Lead User Experience Designer will report to the Director of Art Development.

Location: Vancouver (hybrid role onsite the studio 3 days a week).

Responsibilities:

  • Use market research as a competitive benchmark and identify evolving best practices and implementations

  • Rapidly prototype and test ideas via surveys, player studies, and limited market tests

  • Creates mockups and prototypes interaction designs, including user interaction models, information architectures and navigation models, wireframes and screen flows

  • Creates intuitive user experiences for desktop and mobile platforms using proven innovation methods, such as user personas, journey mapping and Design Thinking

  • Conduct user research and usability testing to gather feedback 

  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in UX/UI design

Qualifications:

  • Experience with wire-framing, prototyping and interface design software, such as Figma, Sketch, Axure, Adobe XD and general knowledge of graphic design software, such as Adobe Photoshop.

  • You have 8+ years of applied and progressive experience in UI/UX design

  • Successfully shipped games on PC, Console, and Mobile devices.

  • Excellent knowledge of user-centered design methodologies

  • Both written and oral skills, with the ability to provide a rationale for recommendations

  • A positive personality, and eager for continuous improvement

  • An innate love for games

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs). BASE SALARY RANGES

  • British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria)
    • $160,200 - $229,100 CAD

In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
