Market Analyst — Apex Legends (Japan)

As part of the EA Japan Publishing team, you will support Product × Market strategy for Apex Legends in Japan. Reporting to the General Manager of Japan, you will work with the Product Market Lead. You will also collaborate with Respawn Entertainment and publishing teams. Your goal is to deliver market intelligence that informs player engagement, commercial performance, and live service decisions.

We believe understanding players at a local level leads to better product and publishing decisions. Our Japan Publishing team partners with our studios to bring the voice of Japanese players into every stage of the live service lifecycle.

You will develop an understanding of Japanese Apex Legends players through gameplay data, community sentiment, creator trends, competitive intelligence, and market insights. Working across Analytics, Marketing, Community, Franchise, and Studio teams, you will help shape product and publishing decisions.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze player behaviour, performance data, and market trends to identify opportunities and risks
  • Translate quantitative and qualitative insights into recommendations for Studio and Publishing teams
  • Partner with the Product Market Lead to validate market hypotheses and support recommendations
  • Monitor competitor activity, creator ecosystems, cultural trends, and live service developments
  • Track acquisition, engagement, retention, monetisation, and Live Ops performance
  • Research Japanese player behaviour, community sentiment, and creator trends to provide market context
  • Support Live Ops planning, GTM plans, creator programs, partnerships, and market opportunities
  • Track outcomes and capture insights to improve future recommendations
  • Build relationships across Analytics, Marketing, Community, Franchise, and Studio teams.nships across Analytics, Marketing, Community, Franchise, and Studio teams

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, market intelligence, publishing, strategy, or a related field within the video game or entertainment industry
  • Experience analyzing large datasets and translating insights into business recommendations
  • Understanding of live service games and main performance drivers, including player engagement, retention, and monetisation
  • Knowledge of the Japanese gaming market, player behaviours, and creator ecosystem
  • Experience working with international teams
  • Experience with analytical tools such as SQL, Tableau, Power BI, Excel (can perform complex functions) , or similar data visualization and reporting platforms
  • Native-level Japanese and strong English communication skills
  • Experience with competitive multiplayer games; we prefer familiarity with Apex Legends or other live service FPS titles
