Our Motive is to create innovative action games within iconic worlds where every player feels like the hero. Let's say that again—iconic worlds, where every player feels like the hero.

Our passion has taken us from imagining dogfighter pilots in Star Wars™: Squadrons, to re-creating Isaac Clarke onboard the Ishimura in Dead Space™, and now to building an original Iron Man action-adventure video game.

We believe in sharing our passion with our community, and with each other by having transparent discussions, by practicing an inclusive culture, and by nurturing a continuous growth mindset. Our approach feels simple, but it leads to the best work of our careers, and as a team, building unique and immersive experiences.

Motive is looking for a Principal Game Designer with a specialization in multiplayer shooters to join our team working on Battlefield. You will collaborate with gameplay leadership to create some of the systems for the Single Player Campaign of the game.

You'll be joining a multi-disciplinary team and working closely with other Gameplay Designers to craft a unique multiplayer experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Create Game loop and progression systems
  • Create and supervise unique Game Modes
  • Write design documents and plan execution on features to support the Creative Director's vision
  • Create understanding and enthusiasm for designs by presenting them, explaining them in different forms, and taking feedback from the team
  • Create and guide prototypes that answer important questions about a design
  • Collect and use qualitative data (playtest, usability, and customer feedback) and quantitative data (telemetry and analytics) to inform your designs
  • Provide relevant, constructive design feedback to other designers

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of design experience in video games
  • Design credits on at least two titles where you were responsible for major parts of the design
  • Experience in Multiplayer shooter game, progression loop, monetization and post-launch
  • Experience writing design documents for features or content
  • Knowledge of recent action games, shooter games, and trends in the market and the ability to apply insights from them
  • A focus on player experience
