Description & Requirements

Electronic Arts creates next-level entertainment experiences that inspire players and fans around the world. Here, everyone is part of the story. Part of a community that connects across the globe. A place where creativity thrives, new perspectives are invited, and ideas matter. A team where everyone makes play happen.

The Ventures Innovation team at Electronic Arts is dedicated to exploring new opportunities beyond the bounds of traditional gaming; specifically new opportunities across the rapidly evolving industry as well as disruptive forms of sports entertainment.  As part of the Experiences organization, we are a forward-thinking team of innovators, strategists, creatives, engineers, and statisticians. Together, we incubate disruptive products, features, and capabilities that sit outside the core gaming experiences of EA, breaking new ground in interactive experiences and sports entertainment.

You will work with an experienced team located across the globe whose focus is centered on bringing new experiences to our players for our wider portfolio. Your work will interlink across many different development teams within EA, bringing next level creation tools and player services to life. Reporting to the Sr Director of Innovation, you will drive the development of internal innovative services in-engine which support games pushing boundaries in the User Generated Content space. You will lead an engineering team focused on building these initiatives and content services.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide services to enhance/enable in-game and out-of-game experiences for our content creators across our portfolio.

  • Drive architecture and design processes of services with stakeholders across EA.

  • Guide and evaluate the work of your team for success and growth.

  • Help instill a healthy culture focused on delivering high-quality experiences to our players which empower them to engage more with our games.

  • Shape people's careers as you mentor your team to help them build great products and reach their full potential.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor/Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.

  • 10+ years of experience in the software engineering space with cross related experience with product management and high-level architecture.

  • 4+ years leading impactful engineering teams across different regions.

  • Experience in game engine development.

  • You take high-level direction and manage team execution within an iterative software development model.

  • You have experience with various programming languages and frameworks (Rust, C++, C# to name a few).

  • You develop high-quality, testable software.

  • You are passionate about building experiences for players and games which enhance their connection to the games they love.

  • You're willing to iterate quickly and develop multiple short-lived prototypes to achieve the best final product possible.

  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • You're a motivated self-starter; able to operate with autonomy.

  • You have a desire to teach and learn from your peers.
