UI Artist Intern

Founded in 2010 by the original creators of the Call of Duty Franchise, Respawn was created with the philosophy that when talented people have creative freedom, they'll make extraordinary games that achieve the unexpected. From our roots as an indie studio to joining the expansive roster of studios at Electronic Arts, this remains our guiding principle. Our shipped titles include critically acclaimed multi-platform games Apex Legends, Titanfall, Titanfall 2, Star Wars™ Jedi: Fallen Order, Star Wars™ Jedi: Survivor, and Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond. We're looking for a UI Artist Intern to join the Apex Legends team. You must be available for a full-time paid internship in the Summer of 2026. We are only considering students who will be enrolled in an accredited degree program in the Summer of 2026, slated to graduate no earlier than December 2026. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the Canada on a full-time basis during the 12-week internship. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

What You'll Do:

  • Create 2D art assets
  • Collaborate with other UI Artists, UX Designers and Scripters
  • Learning about the game development pipeline

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited degree program with a graduation date no earlier than Dec 2026.

Portfolio Requirements:

  • Samples of 2D icon work
  • Simple photoshop compositing
  • Work that shows knowledge of color, composition, and layout

Nice to Have

  • Animation Experience
  • Experience playing a wide variety of games
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator

Pay Transparency - North America

* British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) *$60,000 - $65,000 CAD

Pay is just one part of the overall compensation at EA.

For Canada, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
