Job Title:  Supervisor ,Royalty Accounting

 

Introduction to EA & India Centre: Electronic Arts Inc. is a leading global interactive entertainment software company. EA develops, publishes, and distributes interactive software worldwide for video game systems, personal computers, wireless devices, and the Internet.

EA India’s office in Hyderabad supports game development activities for mobile gaming, console, online, and free-to-play casual game portal pogo.com. Two corporate functions operate shared services centers: IT – provides networks & and applications support whereas Finance supports purchase to pay, accounts receivables, revenue accounting, fixed assets accounting, procurement support, payroll & and FP&A.

 

Introduction to Function & Role: The Global EA Royalty team (GEAR) manages all worldwide license and development contracts, pertaining to product development for all Studios, as well as third party and distribution contracts. GEAR’s direct internal business partners are Studio Finance, Corporate Finance, Financial Planning & Analysis, Business Affairs and Legal, and Global Finance Center (GFC). The group manages over 800 contracts. Our mission is to affect profitable business strategy and to influence the adoption of best practices in license and developer agreements by designing and leading effective royalty processes and by providing timely insights.

 


Roles & Responsibilities:

  • The team lead is responsible for setting expectations, delegation of work with proper direction & accountability, and performance evaluations at regular intervals.
  • Liaison between GEAR and GFC
  • Professionally coach & develop the team to achieve business results & professional goals.
  • Responsible for timely and accurate payment of royalty minimum guarantees and development milestone payments as directed by EARS team.
  • Accurate review, interpretation of development and licensing contracts terms and conditions
  • Review team’s work to ensure accurate preparation and timely delivery, including but not limited to contract & payment trackers, processing royalty payments, running/publishing reports, vendor research, AP open invoices, statement recons, employee sales reports, and SOP documentation updates.
  • Initial point of contact with GFC AP team on resolution of Licensor payment and banking queries.
  • Back up team as needed
  • Ensure the Royalty Accounting policies and procedures are followed and make recommendations where appropriate for process improvements.
  • Assist in ad hoc projects
  • Open to learning cross-functional skills

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business, Master’s in Business Administration preferred
  • 8–10 years of hands-on experience in accounting
  • 3-5 years of experience leading or supervising people
  • Knowledge of General Ledger and preparing Journal entries is beneficial
  • Experience with an ERP system, Oracle 11i or R12 preferred
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Willingness to be flexible in the shift to work based on the process requirement
