Role Overview:

As the Broadcast Creative Lead in EA's Esports division, you will set the creative direction for EA's esports broadcasts. You will also guide teams toward shared outcomes across EA's esports programmes, including FC Pro, MCS, and Apex Legends Global Series, and any future programmes. You will directly manage a team of two reports, encouraging their growth while ensuring understanding to EA's broadcast and brand priorities. You will collaborate with internal and external partners including broadcast agencies, social media teams, marketing, product, and league operations to deliver engaging live broadcasts and digital experiences. You will focus on ensuring seamless, high-quality productions that resonate with esports audiences and help grow EA's esports brand. You will bring both creative vision and operational expertise, with an understanding of how esports fans consume content and the trends shaping live broadcast. You will report to the Director of Esports Brand Management.


Responsibilities:

  • Strategy & Planning

    • Manage the long-term strategy, roadmap and execution of EA Esports live broadcasts, including FC Pro, MCS, Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS) and future esports programmes.

    • Oversee pre-production activities such as concept development, briefing, scripting, and scheduling to ensure understanding of brand and team goals.

    • Champion new formats, technologies, and distribution opportunities to expand the reach and deepen fan engagement

    • Shape editorial direction by determining coverage angles, identifying new content opportunities, and driving innovation in broadcast storytelling.

  • Production Management

    • Manage a team of two direct reports, providing creative guidance, career development, and performance management.

    • Oversee vendor partners, setting quality benchmarks, driving efficiency and ensuring understanding of EA's global broadcast standards.

    • Partner with team members including Product Ops, League Ops, Product Strategy, Talent, Partnerships, PR and Brand Marketing to meet shared goals, broadcast needs & deliverables.

    • Manage post-production processes, including final asset delivery, post-mortems, and quality improvements.

    • Foster a collaborative team culture that supports innovation, accountability, and partnership.

  • Live Show Execution & Audience Growth

    • Set vision for on-air talent strategy and programming to maximise audience growth.

    • Make real-time decisions during live broadcasts to shape the on-air product and viewer experience.

    • Curate programming that reflects brand messaging, engages fans & drives goals.

    • Stay ahead of media and entertainment trends to fuel new broadcast and content development.

  • Technical & Creative Leadership

    • Oversee post-production and transmission operations by managing EA's external production agency, ensuring world-class broadcast workflows, infrastructure, and delivery.

    • Provide creative and operational direction to agency partners so that all productions align with EA's brand standards, storytelling priorities, and audience growth goals.

  • Partner Management & Reporting

    • Brief leadership on broadcast updates, performance, approach and growth opportunities to keep partners informed.

    • Establish Goals, measurement techniques, and reporting documents for internal and external use.

    • Analyse show metrics & audience feedback to evolve broadcast strategies & execution.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience at a Senior level in broadcast production within esports/gaming/entertainment industries.

  • Experience leading and growing teams.

  • Experience with content production budget elements and ability to manage simultaneous projects.

  • Experience managing senior-level partners and influencing executive decision-making.

  • Experience developing large-scale live productions.

  • Experience with the esports ecosystem, gaming culture, and digital trends.

  • Strong analytical skills and experience with performance measurement tools.

  • Exceptional communication & stakeholder management skill with the ability to influence at all levels.
